The long awaited 15,500 seat multi-function Perth Arena project was completed in 2013 to National and State Architecture awards. Designed jointly by ARM and Cameron Chisholm Nicol Architects, the Arena facility has been widely acclaimed for its modern rethinking of an eternity puzzle, yet impressive and extremely well featured technical capabilities. Over the extended period of construction, the design and functionality requirements evolved to maintain world’s best practice.

The lighting control system implemented, Balanced Technology’s Western Australian Distributor Light Application, across the entire building and car park is required to provide a range of functionalities, from simple single staff member operation of the entire or partial site, through to integration into the most complex concert performance control systems. The venue houses the largest commercial Solar panel array in Perth, generating over 110Kw, along with 36 corporate suites, function rooms, office areas and bars, retail and catering facilities.

With over 855 lighting controllers and 850 sensors and panels, the site wide lighting control is coordinated using the Controlsoft software suite, along with integration to security, fire, HVAC and stage lighting control (DMX512).
